Ciccotti Art Glass

Vendor Spotlight

I describe my work as “Organic” in appearance. Something that either because of the shapes or the colors relates to other things in nature. Having grown up in Southern California my attraction to designs and color patterns found along the coast has its roots. I use techniques like overlays of color, use of cane and murrini, and optic molds to achieve my work. I often start with a basic concept of what it is I want to make, turn that into a drawing, then place a chalk drawing on the floor before in front of me just before starting on a piece. Drawing the liquid hot glass out of the furnace with the long blow pipe I start a bubble and gradually increase the size with successive gathers. Then at some point I apply the color. I strive to produce work that shows my personal aesthetic as well as draws the attention of my viewers. Making that connection with my customers brings my work full circle in that the work I produce also brings enjoyment to others. The wedding orders I make for my customers are enjoyable to do. The couples are very excited to see the finished piece and proudly display them to their family and friends. I think I would describe these wedding pieces as colorful and intense.
